There is both good and bad information out there – some of it based on reliable scientific research. Some of it is marketing hype.

A company may use the term “therapeutic grade” to give the impression that their essential oil is a higher quality, or to justify a price of over $40 for 1/2 oz. Some tell you where their oil comes from and give the impression that it’s somehow “specially” derived.
